Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Resume Roast is an AI-powered digital tool that provides resume feedback in the form of a numerical score (0–100), category-level breakdown, a satirical "roast" style critique, and actionable improvement suggestions. The service is operated by PunchLab (Luca Restagno), Munich, Germany.

Results are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional career counseling, HR advice, or recruitment guidance. We make no guarantees about employment outcomes.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use Resume Roast. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from or provide services to minors.

3. Payment and Merchant of Record

All payments for Resume Roast are processed by LemonSqueezy (LS Bird B.V.), who acts as the merchant of record for all transactions. This means LemonSqueezy is the seller of record, handles tax collection and compliance, and is responsible for processing your payment.

The current price is €2.99 per roast (including applicable VAT where required). Prices are displayed at checkout and may vary by region.

By completing a purchase, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service.

4. Refund Policy

Due to the instant, digital nature of the service, refunds are generally not available once your roast has been generated and delivered. If a technical failure prevented you from receiving your results (e.g., server error, empty response), contact us at hello@punchlab.dev and we will resolve the issue or issue a full refund. No questions asked.

EU consumers have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal for digital services. However, by proceeding with the purchase and receiving the AI-generated results, you explicitly consent to the immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal lapses upon delivery of the digital content (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB / Art. 16(m) Consumer Rights Directive).

5. User Content and Ownership

You retain full ownership of any resume or CV you upload to Resume Roast. By uploading a document, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process it solely for the purpose of generating your roast and score. We do not claim any ownership over your uploaded content.

You represent and warrant that:

• You are the owner of the resume you upload, or have explicit permission from the owner to upload it.
• The uploaded document does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
• You are not uploading any document on behalf of another person without their informed consent.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Resume Roast for any of the following:

• Uploading documents that contain content belonging to others without their explicit consent.
• Generating or attempting to generate feedback for illegal, defamatory, or harmful content.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate interactions with the service.
• Using the service for any unlawful purpose under applicable law.
• Attempting to bypass rate limits, abuse the payment flow, or access the service fraudulently.
• Uploading documents that contain malware, scripts, or other harmful code.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who violates these terms.

7. Data Retention

Uploaded resume files are discarded immediately after text extraction. The extracted text is processed by the AI and then discarded. Generated results (score, roast text, suggestions) are delivered directly to your browser session and are not stored on our servers. We maintain no user accounts and no database of roast results.

8. Limitation of Liability

Resume Roast is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PunchLab shall not be liable for:

• Any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in AI-generated results.
• Any employment decisions made based on our feedback.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

This limitation does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under EU or German law, nor does it exclude liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on Resume Roast (excluding user-uploaded resumes) — including the website design, AI prompts, branding, and generated roast framework — is owned by PunchLab and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Resume Roast at any time. We may also update these Terms of Service. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict of law provisions. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from these terms, to the extent legally permitted, is Munich, Germany.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in your country of residence.

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated and do not participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
